Background:
CBM aims to promote inclusion, in all aspects of life for persons with disability. CBM employs staff with various types of disabilities including those with hearing impairment.
Therefore, from time to time, CBM requires sign language interpreter services available on call to support meetings, training's, workshops, and any other forums requiring the service.
Location: Nairobi
Contract Type: “as and when needed” basis
Contract Duration: 2 years
Contract Start: As soon as possible
Main tasks:
· Provide effective, accurate and impartial Sign Language interpretation and voicing for staff, partners and other stakeholders as required within and outside of the Regional Office
· Must adhere to the international interpreters’ code of conduct
· Works effectively in teams with other sign language interpreters
Professional Profile and Requirement:
College diploma in social work, development studies, international development or any related fieldCertificate in Kenyan Sign LanguageThree (3) years’ experience in sign language interpretation work especially in INGO settings.Time conscious and dependableQuality interpretation and voicing skillsFluency in English and Kiswahili The future consultant adheres to CBM’s values and commits to CBM’s Child Safeguarding Policy
