Acacia Mining seeks to employ a Panel Beater based at Buzwagi Mine in Tanzania. This role reports to the First Line Leader – Light Vehicle and the role holder will be accountable to deliver quality automotive maintenance / repair of light vehicles & heavy mobile equipment to ensure mobile equipment availability as per shift assignment in accordance with Acacia Buzwagi Health and Safety Standards and Procedures.
This is a one (1) year fixed term contract role, with the work roster being fourteen (14) days on and seven (7) days off.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Ensure safe work practices, i.e. attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Maintain tools / equipment integrity by assessing property condition according to Acacia Buzwagi Standards & Procedures.
• Ensure equipment availability.
• Complete pre start inspection checklists.
• Ensure preventive maintenance compliance.
• Conduct mobile equipment repairs / maintenance.
• Identification of specifications, conditions and manufacturers' requirements for mobile equipment.
• Conduct repair and preventative maintenance on mobile equipment panels, and rebuild damaged body parts on the equipment.
• Ensure that maintenance practice results in maximum machine availability.
• Repair small dents, holes or corroded areas using compound filler.
• Undertake body repair work including replacing new panels on a variety of accident damaged vehicles in accordance with OEM recommendation.
• Repair damaged bodywork using traditional dolly and hammer or more modern techniques.
• Ensure prevention of further equipment damage/ faults.
• Follow up on outstanding maintenance/ repair work.
• Completion of assigned work in a safe and timely manner, with minimum supervision and to an internationally acceptable standard.
• Provide accurate and timely reports to the First Line Leader on conditions that may affect functionality of equipment.
• Active participation in training activities to gain new skills and development.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualification Requirements:
• Trade Grade I & II qualification
• Qualified Spray Painter
Experience Requirements:
• Must have 3 years’ or more experience working in the Automotive / Mining Industry
